“…Forestry officials should first plant trees in the hearts of people.
Then those people will plant trees on the land and care for the trees themselves.”
HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej
Background of the Foundation In 1986, Rajapruek Institute Foundation was established with the aims to restore rainforests back to Thailand and to instill environmental awareness in the hearts of her people. Inspired by the many royally initiated projects in conservation of natural resources and the environment, Rajapruek Institute Foundation has actively followed His Majesty the King’s footsteps by working with both public and private sectors in numerous tree planting and reforestation projects. To confirm its commitment, in 1997 the Foundation was awarded “Outstanding Organization in Conservation of Natural Resources and the Environment Prize” form Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
More than 20 years have passed since its founding days, yet Rajapruek Institute Foundation has never stopped to develop and organize projects appropriate to different geographical needs and conditions. Achievements from these projects have clearly proven that the Foundation’s motto: “every single hand of Thai people can contribute to the greening of the country.” have held true times and times again.
